Installing Studs

I pulled all the studs on my BN so that I could work on the deck, now I need to reinstall them.

Is there anything special I should do to install them? Torque, Loctite?

Assuming head studs here . . .

Nothing special about the end going down into the block. I'd get them more than finger tight and if you can get a stud wrench on them to take then down a little more, more there's no need to go crazy or get finicky on torque at this point.

The tension on the stud (both ends) will be determined when you go to tighten the nuts down once you have the head on.

I can't remember if the B has any studs that go through to the water jacket or not, but if any do you need to use a sealant on the treads so coolant doesn't leak past where the stud screws into the block. Roger
