IH 424 how to rebuild a carburetor

I have just recently bought a IH 424 "gasser". It ran fine but you could tell that maybe the carb needed some cleaning. Well, now its running alot rougher and I want to fix it. I have rebuilt the carbs on old 8n"s before, so I think I can do this one, but would like to have some step by step instructions for the IH 424. I saw a post about cleaning the screens and sediment bowl on a diesel version of the 424, so I will do that first. Any help out there????

Step 1- Identify the carburetor. There is a model number on it somewhere.

Step 2- Purchase the correct rebuild kit according to the model number.

Step 3- The kit WILL contain detailed instructions.

The most important part is cleaning.
Getting all the internal passages clean can sometimes be a job.
You are not really rebuilding since most kits only include a few parts and a gasket.
Make sure the shaft bushings are not worn out and shaft seals are replaced. Neither will probably be in the kit.
The float adjustment is something to play close attention to also.
