Need the primary shaft for the TA in my SMTA. Tried the local IH dealer, special order part, $741.00 and to add injury, shipping.
Called Mike at SWR, $159.00 So I'll take the cheep part, (made in China?) and pray.

How's it feel to be shafted?

Which one are you talking about? I have seen the one with the integral gear for about half your quoted price from Mike on eBay (eBay Stores).

I am looking to buy the shaft/gear (25 teeth) for even less.

Don't ask if my parts are for sale. I need them.

What failed on your shaft?
 
the shaft on the left is a IPTO gear assy, yes those are about half for a reman, Not a new one, the one on the right couple to the shaft that he needs so neither shaft you pictured is correct, this is the top shaft in the TA assembly, notice how this one is shot prob like gordo's

I have a couple of those (your picture) that I don't need. Don't know about their condition but can check and post photographs.

I'd be willing to swap for the IPTO gear/shaft and the splines out of the pressure plate and main clutch as shown below.

Yup . mine looked just like that. What gear rides on those splines where the wear is?

No gear, that is were the TA clutch disc rides, they get play in the spines and were on the disc and the shaft, make sure you get a new disc if putting in a new top shaft or you will be doing it again

With that undercut... Spray welding and returning is a viable option... A LOT less than $750...
