Farmall H front end to wide front end - possible?

Wondering if it is possible to put the wide front end from a super H on a standard H? I have a 49 H and would prefer the wide end for stability. I am new to driving this highboy and the terrain I am working on is not exactly flat. any suggestions about this modification would be great. thanks

My suggestion is that the wide front gives you a sense of stability but is really not much, if any, better than a narrow front. And the narrow fronts steer a LOT easier. The key is going slow, never with a loader up, and up hill and down hill are the directions of choice.

like andy said, the wide isnt any more stable than the narrow due to the high stance on the row crop tractor. fluid in the rear tires, and or cast weights, set the rears as wide as possible or dual er up. without a rops, you dont want to go over on a h.

I just changed out my H's narrow to a wide front. Seems like I dont feel the bumps as bad. Only one wheel hittin a bump instead of both. Steers just fine, just can't turn as short of a radius. I'm happy I did it, but I also have another H with a narrow front so I can go back and forth depending on the job.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can put the SH front end on with no problem. I like the wide front better. Like some of the others have said I not sure if it makes it a lot safer or not. Your still kind of top heavy. I think the wide front is easier to turn however.
