international 564 starter motor

Hi, does anyone know where I can find a parts
diagram or dismantling instructions for a 564
starter motor? Thanks very much.

Hi Richard, is the 564 made in Germany with a D-206 German Diesel engine?

Go to www.caseih.com search for parts right here and enter D-206 then you can find the starter motor parts page. There were three different starters used on those German Diesel engines, Bosch, Lucas and Delco Remy. The different starters are listed under the parts for 684.

Thanks Jim, My 564 seems to have a slightly different engine and Lucas starter. None of the Lucas starters listed for the D-206 or the 684 are what I"ve got. We"re in Australia so not sure where it was built. Plate on my tractor says it"s a 564D built in 1970, according to www.external_link they were built between 1972 & 74. The 564 doesn"t exist on the caseih.com site either. I"ll keep looking.

Hi Richard, hello from Canada.

I don't see a 564 there. This spring I was visiting in UK a took in a tractor show at Newby Hall to meet with MJ in UK. At that show I saw a tractor that appeared to be a 574 but had a Perkins Diesel engine in it. The decals were faded beyond recognition but MJ said it was a 475 tractor with a Perkins AD212 diesel engine.
He said IH UK made a series of tractors with same as 74 series but with Perkins Diesels instead of IH German Diesel engines.

So does the 564 have a Perkins Diesel engine with a CAV injection pump?

Hi Richard, did a google search on ih 564 and found this book on line:

Check page 88. It would appear 564 is IH Australia built IH. It does not indicate what kind of engine is installed.

Hi Richard, more googling reveals the following:

The A554 , Farmall A514 (1962-1966)
and 564 and Farmall 564 (1966-1970???) were powered by either the AC-264 petrol/kerosene engine or the optional AD-264 diesel.

The AD-264 was an Australian built engine, very similar to the British built BD-264.

It definitely doesn't have the D-206 or D-179 IH engine. There were pictures of those at the German site. A number stamped on the block is 842 891 R2 and it does hav a cav injector pump. The only plate on it says 564D, 1970 and the number A2542. I will keep looking around to see if I can find what it is, no doubt something else will need repairing soon. I have managed to pull the starter apart for a clean and service, it is working much better now. Thanks for your help.

Thanks very much for the info Jim. I can't find much on the AD-264 engine, but that's probably what it is, so will keep researching. I have sorted the starter out.
