Touch Control problem or Hydraulic pump problem?

Hi.

I have a 1948 Super A and am having some hydraulic problems. One side of the hydraulics always seems to work like it should, the arms that do not attach to the rear rockshaft. The side that attaches to the rear rockshaft always seems to lose prime when the tractor sits and takes about 5 minutes of moving the touch control lever back and forth before the arm will move. I also notice that when that side is left in the up position and the tractor is turned off the hydraulics on that side will slowly drop to the ground while the touch control lever remains in the up position. Maybe a bad seal in the touch control unit and time for a rebuild? I am thinking the pump is OK since the other side seems to be fine.

Thanks.

I am probably not much help because I can not solve my own Touch Control proble. Have you checked your inlet screen? That could slow things down. I think both sides have the same regulator valve but have different shuttle valves. Chech the O rings on the shuttle valve. That could explane the leaking down problem also. Sounds like the pump is OK. My problem is that the pump will not unload.
