I4 How rare?

Thanks to everyone that posted on my other message. I have been trying to find out how rare this tractor is if it is rare. It does have the heavy duty front axle and has a pto (one web site i read said not very many came with a pto) Any help would be greatful

I don't know how many I-4's were built as there is no specific serial number breakdown, but they would not be considered rare. Quite a few of them have a pto whitch was an option as was the regular drawbar and your HD front axle. A pintal hitch was the standard hitch. Does your I-4 have hydraulic brakes? Many sold with the optional HD front axle also had HD rear axles and hydraulic brakes.

What part of the country would you be in that it is not rare? Here in corn belt you never see a W4 let alone am Industrial I4. Here they would be like finding hens teeth, don't exist.

Looked at one here in northern michigan the other day, IH I-4 with HD front end Pintle hitch, wagner loader. Wanted $500 with rusty sheet metal.

I have one, it is the first one I have ever saw. But, then again, I don't get out much. lol.
I do not think they are all that common at all, IMHO.

According to tractor data.com there were 24377 I-4 Tractors built,and thats fewer than S-MTA's were built and look at the price of those.Id be happy to own an I-4 or the I-6.

That is why I pay no attention to external_link. Guy Fay's data book says 6426. He doesn't list a figure for the heavy duty I4, I would guess less than the regular I4, or the heavy duty numbers may be included with the regular I4. The 24377 figure TD gives is the entire 4 series, W4,I4,O4,OS4, which comes from Guy Fay's book. If you add the yearly production figures, I believe Guy also has a misprint as his yearly production figures total 35868.

I dont care what you pay attention to.Its pretty rare to own an I 4

Well i paid 1000 canadian for it it has a winch on the back but the medal is good it runs good the paint is crap but hey what do you get for 1000 bucks these days. And this is the only one i have seen in southern ontario canada. Theres plenty of w4's around but not the I4's
