i bought a 300 international with a 2 point on the back of it. iv seen 2 points before but this tractor has another hydraulic cylinder on the drawbar that is belly mounted on the right side. it looks like an early form of a draft control. im currius what is the purpose of this. and what is the 2 point worth with this added feature? any help would be gretly appreciated

Kendal: It is manual draft control, designed primarily for setting plow depth, or changing depth on the go. It also adjusts any ground working implement so front cuts same depth as back of implement. Disk is a prime example, you adjust that control so back and front gangs cut the same. When you using this the lift cylinder should be in single action setting, then implement floats at your desired depth. Well designed for that era.

im not going to be using the 2 point on this tractor and am wondering what the going rate for a complete 2 point with a draft control is?

About $300 if complete and not wore out.

I don't think the draft control was an option for the early fast hitch. It was part of the whole attachment. It is just a 2.5" x 8" cylinder, bracket, and hoses. On the other hand you do see alot of those hitches where the cylinder has been removed and the hitch pinned in the up position. Somebody probably robbed the cylinder to use on another implement. I wouldn't buy your hitch if it didn't have those parts. Why would I want to spend another $100 and the time to get those parts.

You should know that the 300 and 400 hitches are not interchangeable although most of the individual parts are. The 400 hitch will fit SMTA, 450, 560 with some modifications. Many people prefer the early hitch over the later one.

I just re-read your original post. You say you have a 300 International. That hitch is somewhat different from a 300 Farmall although I can't tell you how. Probably not as much demand. If that were my tractor, I would not be looking to convert it into cash. I would hang it on a shed wall.

If you want to sell the hitch I think you need to clear up the describtion. Whats called a farmall 300 row crop tractor used that hitch. 300 international was the utility model and has a different type 2 point hitch.
