706 diesel injection pump

The 706 diesel is a recent aquisition. Good power and starts right up. No smoke. I really don't want to take the injection pump off. The problem is the injection pump seems to be doing some slight dripping from one or two little covers on the side. The upper one looks like a washer with a bolt coming through the center and the bottom one looks like a washer the shape of a hex nut with a bolt coming through the center. These are on the outside of the injection pump, not towards the block. If I pull them off will I find rubber seals that need replacing??? Thank you.

If a Stanadyne/Roosamaster, all those seals are either rubber o-rings, steel washers, copper washers, and one aluminum washer.

You can buy the entire seal kit for $14.

Some you can easily replace from the outide without disturbing anything, and some are not so easy.

Here's a generic photo of a Roosamaster/Stanadyne pump. Can you point out what parts are leaking?
I assume you've got the DBGFC 631 20AJ or 40AJ pump?

If not a Stanadyne, then disregard.

The later 706's had the larger "German Diesel" engine, I think it is 310 cubic inches. It would have a Bosch pump.

That is about the extent of my knowledge.

That is the pump. That would be the back side (towards the block). The leaky parts I noticed were on the other side. The engine is the first diesel ... the same as a 560.
