TIRES AND WHEELS FOR M FARMALL 18.4 x 30 ?

Are there original spoke wheels that will mate up to a Farmall M that will carry an 18.4 x 30 tire?

Currently have 15.5 x 38. I have seen the wider tire, but never on an M. Do not want to go with pressed wheels, want the original look but with fatter rear tires. Any advice appreciated. Thanks - Walter in Ky

Probably the easiest way to accomplish that goal would be to locate a pair cast centers from a 400 or 450. Those centers will accomodate the double bevel rims, and then you can find some rims that are wide enough to mount the 18.4 tires. I know of one M that has been altered in this fashion, and it does look impressive. A word of caution though. An M is not heavy enough to need that much tire, and while traction in soft ground may improve, I think the traction on harder ground would leave quite a bit to be desired.

There were no 30 inch rear wheels for an M. I think you are thinking 18.4 x 38. As Rusty Farmer says you can use later model wide rims and mount 18.4 x 38 tires, however, your tractor is grossly underweight and underpowered to utilize that big a tire size plus it will have a "oversized tennis shoe" look.
