F-14 hard to start

I have a f-14 that is very hard to start with the crank. I pull it a few feet and it fires right up. What could be the problem? Thank-you, Phil

Timing or the mag is not hot enough,but probally the timing,and the carb float is critical

sounds like the impulse coupling may not be working. check that first.

About the mag: the magnets do lose their strength over time, and that could be giving you a weak spark at cranking speeds. The impulse has to be kicking in and giving a good spin, and of course the timing has to be spot on, too.
