Went to an auction yesterday and pickup up a SMD stage 1 with factory wide front for $1,700, a 3 btm little genius for $200, a four-row cultivator for a farmall m for $170, and a bunch of misc. parts that went cheap. Loaded all of this on my 15,000 lb. PJ trailer and pulled it home with the F150. Could barely keep it at 30mph with the pedal to the metal. Just bought my cousins 1979 Ford F250. Ill have to get that up and running and save the F150 for lighter loads lol. Next trip is to South Dakota to pick up a four-row planter, and a four-row cultivator for a 450.

Sounds like you should have made two trips!

What is the difference between a stage I and stage II SMD??? I have an MD, but don't know anything about the supers.

On a side, what is a Schwartz wide front for an M worth? The guy says it has good tires and no welds. He is asking $500. Is that inline?

Stage I SM and SMD did NOT have live hydraulics, no live PTO. As the Stage II SM and SMD HAD live Hydrualics. I think there were some other small changes but that is the big one that I know of. I think that sounds like a good price for a Swhwarts.

30 aint bad but much less and you'd have been better off too put the truck on the trailer and pulled the rig home with the M! hehehe.
I think you'll like the 3/4 ton a lot better!
If you ever find the chance, get yourself a one ton diesel.....I did and I'll never go back too gas engines again.
