Coffee got nuked so I can do some more typing - Mr. Kerr, 'tis the season for 'puttin' up' the garden goodies. Picked up 30 pounds of frozen cherries yesterday, that are thawing, for canning later and last evening I opened a quart of peaches I canned last August. For several days I have been a wishin you would post some photos of the harvest, please. Always gives me a good feeling and has memories of younger years when my grandmas and mom would have the canner on the stove, quarts of homemade goodness on the counter...and that 'ping'.

Just out of curiosity, what did you have to pay for the cherries? When we were up in Door county, 30 pounds of frozen were $28---with sugar $31. They have their best crop of cherries ever this year. Last year was their worst.

$24.99 per 15 pound bucket at the local grocer. I had called around and some couldn't get any and two other places had ran out for the season. You got a better deal.

They are putting up tobacco on my way up to Baraboo last weekend. That is what I thought you would refer to :) We have frozen sweet corn and beans so far.

I only put out about 6 corn plants this year and they look like crud. Things were way too wet around here to fool with it this spring. Heck , I am still way behind on cutting my winter wood and everyone else want me to cut theirs too. I did pick up a bunch of potatos from a local guy who had several pickup truck loads. Sure wish I had a root cellar! He was buying them by the loader bucket full on the cheap.
