With all the questions about dot head bolts lately. I wanted to point out that all tractors may not of come with dot head bolts in all places. Posted a picture at the post on the second page right now in case I can't work it in this post. Picture shows a FC marked bolt out of a forties M tractor, high head 3/4 inch, 1 inch wrench size for mounting frame rails. Bolt behind has no marks and is from a axle housing to rear end mount. FC marked bolts were used in a lot of places mostly before 1950. No mark axle housing bolts were used up to some farmall 400 tractors anyway. M used them on brake covers, top covers and other. Other markings also were used and two tractors the same may not have the bolts alike. Just pointing out that all tractors didn't have dot bolts everywhere when original for the person who thinks he has to have them.

absolutely agree, and you won't find dot bolts on your clutch/flywheel and other places.

For the most part, I have found external bolts to have the dot, however, knowing IHC, and the many strikes that forced the procurement of parts from outside contracts. Just like the lights coming from GM Guidelamp.

so, no arguement here from me on your point........
