IH sickle bar mower

I'm trying to identify a IH sickle bar mower.
It mounts via 2 pt fast hitch on my Farmall 230.
It has a wooden pitman arm.
It's 7ft long.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
I am aware of two fast hitch mowers for the Super C, 200 and 230 model tractors. One is the C-21 noted by Wayne and the other is a C-24. I have Operators manuals for both models and the most obvious difference in the two is the number of lift springs on the rear of the mover. The C-21 has a single coil spring while the C-24 has two installed side by side. Both utilize a wooden pitman arm. I believe the C-24 is the heavier duty model between the two. Hope this helps. Hal
 
Johnny: If the mower came new with the 230, it's very likely a C-28. The mowers that Hal and Wayne mention all had pull rod that attached to tractor front rockshaft, to lift cutter bar.

The C-28 was built with a pivot arm at hitch point. That pivot arm hooks under tractor hitch pull bar, and as hitch raises the pivot causes cutter bar to lift. C-28 was also built as a 3point hitch mower and incorperated the same type pivot. This all came about between 200 and 230 production when touch control was dropped and 230 switched to hydra touch with no more front rockshaft. Of course the design change was made to accomodate 3 point hitch as well.

230 can operate the older fast hitch mowers by using an external remote hydraulic cylinder, or if it is one of the 230s fitted with touch control. Touch control was an option with 230, and some have been changed since.
 
Teddy: I didn't get back to it since. I had some other more pressing work, and wanted the tractor mobile. I left the nut backed off couple turns. I'm not really working the tractor but have some mounted equipment I'm moving in and out of shop.

I have 3 -4 row precission vegetable seeders, I'm rebuilding. Your a food plot guy, maybe I could sell you a vegetable seeder.
