Hello. I have heard that the original fastners for the Farmall M had a Dot on the top of the hex. What did this denote? Were can I find these to replace the worn out ones on my tractor. Any help will be greatly appreciated. THANKS

IH used them on about everthing I think. It just means that they are original. Other than making them yourself on a lathe I think tou have to get originals.

If you put the original one beside a new one you will see the head is taller so putting them in a lathe dont make them original type.

Just say that I would happen to get a die to make the dot on the top of the heads, how much pressure would it take? I would guess way more than anything the average shop would have but sometimes I get a delightful suprise.

About 75000 pounds cold in a hex form die, or 1000 pounds red hot and loosing their temper. Either way not good. Drill a 1/8inch hole in the center, and put a piece of 1/8" steel welding rod in the hole and set it with a rivet header punch. JimN
