B275 pto disengages

Hi, I"m having trouble with my B275. It grinds a bit and is hard to first engage the pto. Once it"s spinning it easy to engage/disengage.

The first problem is that fully depressing the clutch pedal isn"t disengaging the pto. I"ve adjusted the clutch pedal but it hasn"t helped. I"m heading out to try adjusting the nuts on the fingers a 1/4 turn like was suggested in an old thread.

The second problem is that now ever 20 or 30 feet it disengages itself. If I keep my hand on the lever I can feel it pop forward and I just gently push back to keep it running. Any ideas?
 
ok, I adjusted the 3 cap screws to .090 clearance. The pedal is a lot stiffer now, but the pto clutch still isn't working.

I noticed that the engagement lever starts 3/4" past the detent and when you get it engaged it's past the rear detent and up against the rear axle housing. I don't know if this was from the bolt clearance or adjusting the pedal travel.
 
I've got three B-275s, and they all have those problems, to one degree or the other.

The PTO clutch not disengaging has something to do with that big belleville spring (inside the double clutch pack) hanging up. I've taken my machines apart several times to fix. Once apart I'd see nothing wrong. Then put back together and all would fine for awhile. Then, the problem would come back. I just live with it, it's no big deal. When I want to engage, I turn the engine off, and just as the dies, I slide the PTO lever on, and restart. I assume, that whenever I take one apart and then reassemble all works fine, it must have something to do with debris getting in there by that spring.

As to the the PTO lever jumping out - I assume it's just general wear and slop in the metal parts inside, including the sliding gear teeth. I've got one that I have to tie a low-tension bungee cord to when using. Otherwise it keeps popping out.
