Sounds like the thrust bearings in the A post are getting bad. On the Ms & SMs I have taken the sector gear & turned it 180º plus done the same on the steering worm gear. The teeth get worn & sloppy & by turning 180º it puts the mesh point on different teeth. I'm not familiar with the 300s but would think you could do the same.

BTW, this can only be done on tractors that have a full sector gear. A lot of the Hs & Ms had a 1/2 sector gear
 
In addition to worn gears, it can also be a worn lower bolster bearing. Jack up the front and see if you can move the wheels side to side.

A temporary fix is to lower the air pressure in one of the tires. That makes it pull enough to one side that you avoid most of the wobble.
