Hi All. I have a IH 2500 industrial tractor (same as IH 574 farm) the tractor has no
hydraulic remotes. My question would be, is it possible to "tap" into the existing hyd. system
to provide enough power to operate a round baler lift gate (rear door)? I know of course I'll
have to adapt a hyd. valve and hoses but thought you guys might know the best place
(if there is one) to make the connections. Also, I know these tractors came with factory
installed remotes- the slot in the sheet metal near my right heel has a place for the control
handle, So if anyone has the handle plus all the other stock IH components to convert it,
I would be interested. Thanks
 
Hi, the normal place to tap into the hydraulics is by removing the hydraulic tube that goes from where the remote hyraulic controls would have been to the draft control mechanism at the back of the seat. The tube is somewhat of a "L" shape.
To access this tube requires lifting up the platform the seat is connected to.
The inlet side of a valve spool would connect to the front right where the tube was connected and outlet of valve spool connected to inlet of draft control where tube was removed. Sometimes the inlet of the draft control is capped and the outlet of spool valve is plumbed into transmission drain plugg under the right axle.

hi 66vette, I just bought a 2500a and I caught your "hydraulic remote" request. I hope you got some encouraging replies. I am trying to find out what year my tractor is. The seller gave me a serial #, but I have found no one that can verify it. Farm implement dealers don"t seem to have much on industrial tractors. Any help would be appreciated. thanks DonJ
