Rear Axel Drive Gear. (70 Teeth)

I have been going thru a 48 Cub the last couple of weeks, after finally getting her to run. Had some water in the steering gear box and transmission, so I felt like I had to check the final drive oil reserve. Fortunately both sides seem to be perfectly sealed for the last 60+ years. Only have a bit of sludge in the bottom, and it seems not to stick to a magnet. (It has been stored outside for a few years). I have inspected the drive gear closely and declare it to be no more than 1/10 of 1 percent wore out. It could last another 300 years before it will need to be checked. This baby is built to last. It could run for years with the oil drained. Has anyone ever had this gear to go bad on them?
