Farmall B carb kit question

Hello again, gang,

I see a confusingly large number of results when I search for a carburetor repair/refurb kit. Can anyone tell me just what I need?

In one of my manuals, it appears that the Zenith gas carb is part # A-2779A. In the manual it says Zenith Model 61AX7. And another book describes the part as Zenith 161x7.

As I said, I'm getting too many results to know what I should be buying...basically looking for a kit that has all the parts I'm likely to need or want to replace when I take the carb out to clean it.

Thanks again,
Ross

Pull the carb and take it with you to the parts store. Any good parts store should be able to figure it out that way. Now if you send me an e-mail and can get you the kit number which O'reilly's auto parts stores would sell and that would be what you needed but I can't tell you off the top of my head

It does get to be confusing. Seems like there are about 6 different Zenith carbs that COULD be on your tractor, and the kits do not interchange. You do need the kit that is specific to the model of Zenith that you have. If the carb is original, there should be a small, round tag riveted to it. This tag will have the IH part number on it as well as the Zenith model number. The numbers you posted don't seem to jive with any kits I have in stock, so maybe your carb is not original? See if you can find that tag, and maybe we can figure it out.
