Has anyone ever done a truck 466 swap into a 1066? I know I have to switch front, and rear covers, probably oil pan, filter base. What else does it involve. What kind of pto hp will a 210 hp 466 put out in the tractor? Thanks

Injection pump, exhaust manifold, front crank pulley, oil pickup tube, pan. With right pump turbo and injectors 300 or more. With stock stuff 200 to 230.

The pump has clearance issues or is it a horsepower/torque issue? The others all appear to be clearance issues.

I don't think any of the pump and stuff needs to be changed, it should work just fine. You can make 200 out of a 414 with the right turbo guts and machining, with the stock pump and injectors. Our one 10 was a puller before we got it and the governors hadn't put any fuel to it at 170 horse. The dyno operator (deere guy) was afraid of putting a PTO in it, but we know it was worth way more than that.

But in the end, there is no replacement for displacement...
If he has a free 52 cubes he might as well use it.

The 466 may be cheaper to swap in running than rebuilding the 414, yes. But it is already putting out more power and way more torque. I don't know why he is doing this but if he is out to do it on the cheap, why spend that money?

And that power will take a toll on the rearend, if you put weight on it to do heavy tillage. We put weights on the front of that 10 once to plow, and bought a wheel center and an axle shaft. Let her spin a little and it will save the rearend.

Thanks for the replies, The reason behind it is I have a good 466 with a 100k out of a 1984 church bus. My 414 is getting tired so I plan to swap the 466 in and part out the 414 and hopefully be even steven, and have more power, and a fresh motor. I don't pull, Just farm in sandy soil so I am not worried about tearing anything up.
