F-12 questions

How many or who has a F12 with foot operated brakes? Where is the best place to find parts, used? Im looking for a draft wheel, fan shroud, and the small tool tray under the tank.

I have foot brakes on my F14.

Toolbox should be easy, any F-series salvage yard would have them, several folks (who's names escape me at the moment)on this board have miscellaneous F-series parts.

A radiator shroud that's not all beat to pieces might take a little more searching.

And ya got me on the "draft wheel". I'm curious to know what that is.

Give us a call we should have the parts you need (also unsure what you mean by draft wheel). Alderson Tractor 641-624-2275

thanks to all. Maybe draft wheel is the wrong term for the pully on the side of the tractor. I saw an overdrive unit or road gear for sale on one of the forums, now i cant find it. How does it bolt on an f12 and whats the speed difference? I like to drive my tractors everywhere. I drive my 1969 ford diesil backhoe all over doing odd jobs as far as 5 miles away.At least that gets up a lot more speed then the old 12 do.

Ah I believe what your calling the draft wheel is the belt pulley, thats used to run equipment with the old flat belts. One of those would be best to find near you unless you can cut a deal with somebody on shipping cause they are heavy for their size being cast iron and all. As for the overdrve there are various version from numerous companies. I believe some of them can get it going anywhere from 10-15mph or more. The overdrive bolts onto the front of the transmission case in place of the standard input gears and bolt to the drive shaft coupler from the engine. Best bet on finding one of those is watch adds here, or place a wanted on this site and Id also say watch ebay.

My Heisler is a 2:1, so it doubles the speed. I have an F14 which turns a little higher RPM, and I had to go with the F12 mainshaft to mate with the F12 roadgear, so I got a little more speed out of that too.

Rated speed with the most common transmission was something like 3.5-4 MPH, so you're looking at around 8MPH with the road gear.

Trust me, it [i:654c4848f0]feels[/i:654c4848f0] a lot faster than that!
