i'm not really asking for another supplier their every where .
i guess what im tring to say is , are the aftermarket gears and the one sold by CIH close enuff the same quality i know a lot of times you go to the dealers to get parts you will get aftermarket stuff seals, bearings' gaskets ect.
i'm using the gearon a H with the 300 pump and front cover

Since I haven't bought a gear like that recent, can't say for sure. Would bet its not the same gear IH sold before going out of business. Don't know the quality. Some numbers on the parts in packages they sell with the old numbers have numbers that can be traced to a overseas company.

i have a friend that owns a custom gear shop. many of the aftermarket gears are made overseas, or, the blanks are made overseas and final machining done domestically. his shop either uses domestic produced blanks and then he does the machining, heat treating , hard chroming ect, or if a suitable blank is not available, they hog the blank out from a billet and build the gear from there. probably a stock application will get along fine with an import gear, but if it is a severe use, ie puller or hot rod, the domestic gear would be the better choice. big problem is going to be cost. import gears are quite a bit lower cost, mainly due to labor costs.
