I turned my F400 into a washing machine

There is no washing machine attachment listed in the back of my 400 parts book so I built my own.

I bought the Cat pump new 25 years ago but it has been in retirement for the last 10 years. It is sized for a 45 hp driver.

That is the beginning of a front wheel drive. The gear box is an IH 540 rpm PTO right angle adaptor for 300-350 utilities and later tractors that could not use the center belt pulley gearbox..

I have a Dana 60 front axle with an ARB air locker differential. I already have an air compressor on the tractor.

It seems to me that I will have to adapt a locking diff for the 400. Without that, should the right rear tire lose traction, I will get stuck. Yes, the right brake could be used.

You should change your handle to Rube Goldburg. I can not believe how resourceful you are. Or even how you come up with this stuff. You should take this stuff to tractor shows and charge admissions to see it.

Thanks Steve,

Anyplace I can find a power source on this tractor, I will exploit it.

Future plans include two power shafts from the IPTO driven gear. I will have to make a gearbox to bolt under the clutch housing and fit it with four bearings and seals. Power will be live (always running) and can go forward or rearward. That means four more power shafts can be connected. I like the road kill grinder idea. I am accepting more ideas. Maybe a coconut picker or truffle digger.

Wow!! I'm impressed. When the 4 wheel drive is finished you can go cross country AND wash your dirty clothes along the way. What a great idea!

Yeah, I am also thinking a might have better luck with the wimmins around here if I wore clean clothes. And it might be fun for them to power wash me before we went out.
