Replaced the o-ring and two cup seals in pump.
Put it together and it leaked like a sieve! I think we probably rolled the cup seal that faces the pump.

Even just sitting fuel would leak into the oil. Is this a gravity fed system even with motor off, or am I looking at a deeper problem.

I can tear it back down, but can someone give me any advise on getting the cup seal facing the pump in correctly? Is there either a special tool or a trick to this?

Thanks

Yes, there is a special tool. It's just a simple, hand-held compressor. Stanadyne part # 13371. You could buy new for $5 at the following, but I haven't checked lately.
If careful though, you can do without it.

On many applications, the Stanadyne pump uses a bronze-bushing in front where those seals ride. It gets a ridge worn into it over time. Once the ridge is there, the bushing needs to be replaced (cost $10). If not, it's pretty hard to get the seal in without flipping it over.

Not sure about the IH application. Some companys order that pump with a steel bushing instead of bronze.
