Hi all, I have not posted here in a while. Just thought I'd post and show you a picture of where I'm at on my Farmall M. Still not done, but its looking like a tractor again...

Here is what I started out with...

Poor old tractor in the scrap yard...

I plan on having it running before winter. I have a job now, so I have money to buy what I need for the tractor.

Thanks,
Andy

someone on YT once said "if it still casts a shadow, it can be restored" looks like you are proving that statement!

Hey Andy,
Good going, you should be proud of yourself, most young people now a days don't want to tackle anything that involves work. They just want to twitter or whatever they call it, so all they have to move is their thumbs.
If you want to stop in and give me a hand with my M, please do as I haven't gotten anywhere yet. It does still run so maybe that is a good thing. (at least I didn't break it or take it apart and not put it back together again)
Keep up the good work.
Bob S.

Dear Andy,
Did you ever get the plugs out of the F-20 carburetor. Will an F-20 idle as smooth as an M or an H? I have never been able to achieve that, but some say that you can.

looks real good andy. i am still on the lookout for parts for you, so far i havent got a handle on a parts m. could of got one this spring at an auction for 250, and i passed on it. still kicking myself on that, bought a baler instead. i did find a 706 diesel, a 1486, an old i-h dozer, and a john deere b that people are trying to sell me, but i hope to come across some m parts for ya!!!

Hi Tom, No, I have not had time to mess with the F-20 carb yet. I've been told by a few people that I should not take out those plugs because they say "it won't change the way it runs at all". My Dad talked with a man who has rebuilt dozens of F-20 carbs and he says that I need to clean the passages, he says it will make a worls of difference in how it runs, so I'll try it soon and post and let you know how it went. Thanks, Andy

Keep it up and soon it will all RED and shinny.
I pickup a SM for this winter also. Keep up the
good work. Hope you like your new job. Job's are
like old tractors, knot a lot of them left.

Thanks, I'm probably going to get some parts from a guy I know in Fosston, MN. He has a lot of parts, but I'm not sure if he has everything I need. I'll know when I go up there. Thanks, Andy

Thanks Bob, I like working on tractors. I've always wanted an M and had a hard time finding one, but when I found this one with a wide front, I really wanted to fix it up. Sure, I'd help you with your M, if you are not too far away! ;) I'm in MN.

Thanks,
Andy

Thanks, I really like Ms too. They are a nice tractor. My Dad has a Super MTA with a wide front and it is also a great tractor.

Thanks,
Andy

Thanks. I do like my job a lot. I work in a grocery store, I'm a cart pusher, I bring the carts from the lot into the store. Your tractor and truck look nice!!!

Thanks, Andy

All I can say is that is truly amazing! It appears to me that more of a "resurrection" than a "restoration".

Hopefully next time I am up to my neck in tractor parts and pieces and my patience is wearing thin with a seemingly "minor restoration" I"ll be able to recall your before and after pictures.......
