My head gaskett blew on smta back in the 08 summer. Since I fixed and torqued the new gaskett(at 170lbs),I ran it maybe 3 or 4 hours To my surprise they had loosened. Some as low as 80lbs. I knew I had to retorque them but That was pretty loose. Seemed like the middle where you start the sequence, were more loose than the outside.

110 lbs not 170. You likely mashed the gasket. If it does not leak, you can use it. If it were mine, I would replace the gasket and go something like 25, 50, 75, 100, 110, etc. With that much torque, you may have stretched the studs.

Make surwe your bolts are clean and very lightly oiled. Also make sure the threads in the block don't have any dirt, antifreeze, or oil in them

I agree, with that much torque you may have ruined the bolts tension. That means new bolts. As the old ones may never keep their tension again.

The studs are likely junk, that's why they'll only hold 80 lbs now. They hold clamping force by stretching the proper amount at the proper torque with the proper lube- if you go much past that torque, they'll permanently lose their strength, you can pull them right apart tring to get to the original "correct" torque. If they've been pulled to 170, they're likely paper weights
