Got me a Woods L306 U for my BN

I've had a BN all gussied up for a few years with no implements. Yesterday I picked up a really nice Woods 72" mower for her. In really nice shape. I can' wait to start putting the two together.
 
It has been a couple years since we ran into a problem with the "L" in front of the part number. The L may mean it is a left hand mower. I could be wrong. We put a left hand mower on a Farmall B and then blades spun the wrong way. The Farmall A setup used a left Hand mower but the Farmall B used a right hand. I am unsure why they did this. We made it work by changing the baffles underneath and putting right hand baldes on. The problem is the threads on the left hand mower are opposite of the right hand. we just tighten real good with an air impact and they stay.
 
Hmm. I thought the "L" was just a Woods nomenclature.

After all there are L59s and L503s (have the latter on my Super A although all literature indicates it is primarily for an 8N).
 
Belted up properly, I dont see why it wont work.I have been running a L59 mower on my BN for several years. Works just fine. Yes it does discharge to the left.
 
Yes, all you have to do is reverse how the belt is run, and the blades will spin the opposite way. When the directions say, "loop around the left spindle," go around the right spindle.
 
I think the L stands for lower mount. The R is the rear mount. Only the cub PTO turns oposite the other Farmall tractors. I used the angle PTO shaft to drive mine. The blade bolts have left hand threads. The manual is on the Woods Web site. It has a long belt that must be kept very tight. It has a 3/4 twist in it. I use a B240 belt which is 242.3 " long.
 
The blades are left and right. Wrong way and you will be trying to cut with the back side of the blade.
Don't belive they had 306 for a Cub, it was preety busy running 59" mower.
