Clutch removal Stage SH

Can the clutch in a late SH be removed without splitting the tractor?? No belly pump, one shaft from pilot bearing to trans. input connection. It looks like if I remove the coupling at the back of the shaft there will be enough room to pull the shaft out of the pilot bearing and hopefully snake the whole works out. No guess's please. Have you done it??

From what I have heard, yes. Call Jim Jackel in Fort Atkinson, WI if you have questions. He is the guy that said they used to do them that way all the time.
I just did my trans w/o splitting the tractor and the manual said you had to.

Regular H - no problem, Super H - I don't think it'll go. Certainly a Super M won't. You've got enough room on the Supers to pull everything (including the clutch disc) but not the pressure plate. Good luck. Sam

Sure you can.

Unless the late-late Super Hs have an even bigger clutch than mine, everything will come out the bottom, no problem.

The super H clutch will come out the bottom without splitting the tractor. Don"t recall for sure, but you may have to remove the clutch release carrier and the clutch fork that operates the throw out and the cross shaft that the throwout fork is on. I"ve done the Super H, but it"s been a while. Super M you can"t do this way, but you can also do the regular M.

Yes. If you have the belly pump, you must remove it before you can get to the clutch.

Sorry my friend...not trying to ignore you. The way you worded your response it wasn't clear to me that you were referencing the Stage 2.
