i rebuilt a 310 and cant get it to fire. the pump has timing marks for left and right rotation. but my shop manual does not say how to determine direction of rotation. so i dont know which mark to use to time it. it has a bosch br pump. sure could use some help. thanks

Did you get the correct marks on the timing gears as the same gears are used on 3,4 and 6 cyl engines and the only difference is the timing marks used. The injection pump could also be 1 rev out of time as the pump only turns at 1/2 the engine speed.
Which shop manual do you have? I have the I&T manual that shows how to set static and dynamic timing.

thanks jim no i didnt use the mark on the gear they did not correspond to the book i had 3 4 6 and 706. anyways got it running guess its a right hand rotation now to get the rings seated. i have the international shop manual
