Went down to Arkansas rice country (Stuttgart/DeWitt) and was hoping to see some neat tractors. I didn't see a dozen old tractors anywhere! I saw all the new stuff since guys don't use sheds or they are open sided if they have one.
When you drive around the countryside here in WI or other farm country you always see "retired" machinery parked in the fence row or barnyard. I didn't see any of that down there. I did see quite a bit of old machinery, but hardly any tractors.
Where are they!?!

In my barn and yard I live in southwest Arkansas off the beaton path lot of the others were hauled to scrap yard couldnt save them all.North has lot more tractors than we do much cheeper to.

If ya go to DesArk there is a lot of old tractors! Im in north arkansas but I have honeybees with the soybeans, So every two weeks to go take a look at them. There is tones of RED POWER Not to many green things there.

Come to NY State.
There are old tractors on every road in every town. When someone asks me can you find any old tractors around here I tell them try not to find one. There everywhere.

Farmhand, We are sending one back. Keep an eye on I95 in a few days. We are sending an old Case with trip bucket from New York to Georgia.

What do you mean, "Honeybees with the soybeans"?

I have been to the north before, it was a beautiful place. We went to Ranger and Champion boats up in Mt Home, Flippin, etc. That was really nice.

I figured they had been scraped. I can't imagine us northerners buying them all :) I can certainly believe that is where all the high crops and rice machines have went.

I should have asked where the tractor salvage yards were on the Grand Prairie before I went. I always love seeing "new" junk yards.

I live in the Mt Home area and play with four farmalls: cub, AI, 230 and 300. Your observation that you don"t see much old iron down in the rice country jives with what I"ve seen. My theory is that they can haul the old iron from the delta up here to the Ozarks where there are more hobby type farms or nostalgia freaks to buy the old stuff.

You should have travelled along the Western side of the state. I"ve got two C"s in my shop & know of half dozen more around the Mena area. They"re still around, just have to keep your head on a swivel.

A truck load of locals loaded up Friday to go to a big show in upstate NY,,, I told them they were gonna like it,,, I sure nuff was impressed the last time I went up that way. a little cold at nite for a southern boy at in August tho :) so I did tell my buds to take blaket

Hats off to the Northerners, they got into collecting before it took off down here, about all you can find down here are tractors used on catfish ponds, or Farmalls that still have a cotton picker on them.

Yeah, us 'Northerners' sure know how to pick up deals; tractors and implements in other sections of The United States are much less to purchase. Our costs for food, clothing, shelter, fuel, parts and all other necessities needed here are much higher. We do not complain because we value our style of living. There is old equipment every where because we have inhereted this life style from our relatives, who through their sweat and toil gave us this great land. All are welcome to Upstate New York!
