I am going to reassemble my C oil pump next time I am at the cabin, and I am wondering if I should remove the whole pump sp I can really feel the rotation freeness. If I remove the two bolts from the outside with the retainer clip will the pump come right out, will I need any additional gaskets? I have plastigauge to check the clearance and will do that, I would just like to feel the pump rotate before I reassemble the engine. Thanks in advance!

It should be no issue. The rotation needs to be checked, but not with the plastigauge in it. It must be stationary for the gauge to be cleanly distorted once. .001-.0005" clearance is prime.
