The engine on my tractor smokes at low rpm but clears up at higher rpm s then when I slow it down again the smoke comes back..Thanks

My Super A does that -- white smoke. I suspect the head gasket. Hopefully it's not a cracked head.

Not really had to add coolant I don t work the tractor it s I guess what they call a trailer queen..

Bob, a slight bit of white/blue smoke that only occurs at idle and goes away under load has always indicated worn valve guides to me. Other people may disagree, but that is what my experience has found.

Now, if you are going to work this tractor hard, and expect strong performance out of it, invest in a valve job.

If you are going to run it once in awhile, and only moderately work it, then I wouldn't get to worried about it. Over time, worn valve guides will cause valve seats to wear oblong. This is over time. If they go too oblong, then wheel dressing new seats may or may not be possible, and the only solution is to have stellite seats installed. Not a crisis, but more money.

I wouldn't get too worked up until you decide to redo the engine. Rings, bearings, seals, etc. Then invest in a good valve job, which would include new valves, guides, springs, and keeps.

IMHO.
