hello, can anyone out there tell me if you need to put any kind of sealer on the head bolts on a cub ? book does not say anything about it thanks

You should not need any.

The bolt holes in the block open into the water jacket. You definitely need to use some sealer.

Most of the bolt holes end directly into the water jacket, definetly use a sealer or you will have coolant seeping out under the head bolts when the engine heats up. I use a few turns of teflon tape, but a liquid form would work too.

i just want to thank everyone for there help when i took the head off the gasket was clean should i not put some kind of sealer on the head gasket permertex or coper coating / KEITH

If you are using teflon tape or other sealer, what does that do to the torque specs?
