450 diesel injection pump

I am working on a 450 diesel that has been sitting for 7 years. It was leaking fuel from the filler cap. Replaced primary pump seals and cured this problem. I can still see fuel leaking into the pump sump from the upper end of thepump by the plunger. What seals fuel from the sump at the plunger assembly? Also, where is the pump scavenger valve located? If I could find a book on this pump that would be great.

Appreciate any help you guys can give me with this.

Binderbooks has a repro of the pump manual. Your 450 will have an IH cast into the top cover, indicating a "B" pump. It does not have a scavenger valve or scavenger pump. Those were eliminated when the B pump was introduced. B pumps dump the excess fuel overboard.
