It was Christmas for a minute...

today, when I arrived at the CaseIH dealer. The manifold heater block I ordered from Parts Depot came in. It was sitting in a PD box when it was set in front of me. I glanced at it & put it back in the box with the paper. The clamp was also included. This means it was the kit. I then noticed the box within the box. The inner box is an IH box. Low & behold, the paper I thought was for shipping, turned out to be the blueprint instructions & the packing list dated 10-29-56. I found the hardware package under an unmarked parts bag. I don't think the hardware package has seen the light of day since it was sent out. A shame it's beat up. Due to the hole in it, I found all the hardware listed on the packing sheet. Ahhh! I feel better now that I had a minute to share todays joy with those who understand the importance of such a find. Everyone around the house just wonders why I'm rambling like an idiot about an old part, box & ratty papers. Thanks for understanding - Mike

P.S. Please excuse the quality of the first pic. My camera isn't quite dead yet, but it's mind is going. It thinks it has an old roll of Ektachrome in it.

P.P.S. Does anyone have the service bulletin for this application or any info on what necessitates it's attachment.

That is SO cool, especially the non-CAD illustration. NOS parts put the "N" in nostalgia. I bought an NOS grill and surround for my '71 Chevy truck some 20 years ago (still have it) and remember how I felt opening that box up. Merry Chritmas!

Good memories,
Bill

Mike, sit down for this. I'm going to put it to you straight, my diagnosis: your disease is terminal.

Used to see a few of the blocks on 400 tractors in Ohio. They were mounted on engine side of manifold and just clamped on. I have a service bulletin on the heater block. May take awhile to find it, but could mail you a copy. Fax machine is out and never fixed it.
Think I remember that certain international 300 manifolds needed modified to install block.
