I had to break the hydraulic lines to repair another problem the machine sat for about 6 months I can not get the hydraulics to work any ideas

My 450 is a bear to prime if it ever breaks suction in the pump. Having read other posts on here, I try to keep the reservoir as full as possible because there is very little head pressure in the design of this system. I then remove the recessed hex plug on the pump and fill it with oil. Then I start the engine and operate the fast hitch lift lever every minute or so until it finally primes itself. Like I said, it's not easy. Hang in there.

I will have fluid in both feed and return pipes when i removed the pump and turn it by hand the fluid transfers from one port to another and i do feel suction i beleive the pump is working I also tried to use air in the tank and block the vent to force fluid and still nothing

When you tried to prime the pump, how much were you able to put in? The fluid needs to drain down into the supply line and it may take awhile for that to happen. Be patient and keep filling it until you are sure that it will not take any more. The pump will most likely only pull as much oil, as it has in the pump and that may not be enough to get the fluid to draw out of the reservoir.

There is a plug on the side of the safety/regulator valve that you may want to try and loosen to bleed air out of the system if you think the pump has fluid to it.
Good Luck
Steve
