I put in my new clutch kit in my 49 M this past weekend.Everything went well.
My question is,does the adjustment on the clutch linkage stay close to what it was before?
Seems like my adjustment is almost back to the old clutch,I did screw it in some but not as much as I would have thought. It seems to work fine.
Could my pressure plate loose strength over the years, because my disk didn"t seem that bad,it slipped under heavy loads only. Thanks

didnt see any body answer, so i"ll take a stab at it. the new disc doesnt have a whole lot more meat on it. i just got a new kit for my super m and was suprised the lining wasnt that thick. yup, pressure plate can get weak over time. did you have your flywheel re-surfaced? the fingers on the cutch also eed to be set up, you need to follow the manual for the correct measurements. oil contamination on the clutch can cause slipping, and also it will glaze over the disc, pressure plate and flywheel surfaces, making the slipping worse. over greasing the pilot bearing is a nother way to get contamination on the clutch surface too, i think the manual calls for just 2 pumps on the flywheel zerk.
