Friend has a 300U that we hauled in to my shop. Carb was bad so bad that it had 1/4 inch of rust in the float bowl area. Soaked it about a week and then used my dremal tool to clean it up and now I have the problem of you can not get you hand off the key fast enough. Yep hit the key and it starts, starts so fast it is scary. Now if it would just steer easy he would have a good tractor but like most 300Us it steers like a dead truck with power steering
 
We had a 300U when I was a young kid. In the early 70s the AMC Gremlin ad (I believe this is correct) touted "The more you drive it, the more you like it!" Uncle Mike said about the 300U "The more you drive it, the less you like it!"
