Farmall 300 rear tire size ??

What was the original rear tire size for the 300 row crop. Mine has 13.6x38 but I have an almost new pair of 12.4x38. Thanks

"Standard" tire size for its Super H predecessor was 12.4-38. Tire sizes go up with HP and weight. I don't know about new, but I imagine more 300's were ultimately equipped with 13.6's than 12.4's. The smaller size is fine if you are not doing really heavy work. Original would typically have been 10, 11, or 12-38, corresponding to 11.2, 12.4, and 13.6 in the later size designation. The 10/11.2 would have been used for cultivation in narrow rows.

I believe you will find the 12.4's to be the "standard" size, although there were optional sizes. I am basing this on the information I have for my Super H. If I am wrong, others will be quick to correct. Good luck with your tractor.

My 300 came with 12x38, same as modern day 13.6x38. That was an option, I think the standard equipment tire in 1955 was 11x38 or todays 12.4x38.

One 300 tested at nebraska when new was equiped with 12X38 for most tests and 10X38 for another.
Early 300 parts book lists sizes avaliable as 10, 11 and 12X38 tire sizes on a 10 inch wide rim, 12X38 on 11 inch rim and 13X38 on a 12 inch rim. Probably some special sizes could be ordered also.

THANKS !!! You guys just saved me almost $1000 for a new set of 13.6x38's. Any idea on the weight of the 300 row crop ?? How about the weight of an H Farmall ?? Both have single front wheels. Thanks again.
