Farmall H Hydraulics

I'm attempting to use a JD pull type disk behind my H, it has a hydraulic cylinder on it to adjust the gang angle. I have a double action cylinder on it and know I need a vent on it if I'm using it with the lift-all pump... my question is where can I find or what do I use to make a vent to screw into the other hose port on the cylinder? I now have the hose hooked to the rear left fitting of the tractor and it will only work if I stop and relieve the pressure on the end of the unused hose ( I have the Pioneer type fittings on it ). We use this disk with our B John Deere so I would like to keep the double action cylinder.

Plug another fitting into the end where you need a vent. A short piece of hose or pipe with a rag tied to it will make a fairly good, quick vent.

You can vent it, or run the unused line back to the liftall filler. Replace the filler cap with a nipple (and reducer if needed)

I bought vent plugs at the local IH dealer.
One end is pipe thread and the other looks like a hundred little pins all tied together. Works well, not to expensive. Leaks a little as one would expect. I removed them about a year ago. Need to find those again.

On the H that I'm using the liftall pump for implements, I added the second coupling and ran the hose to the drain on the pump. That way no fluid is lost, and the extra fluid goes into the reservoir when you let the implement down. Works great.

This is the best answer, and most compatible. It might if it will go back to straight with the Liftall in "Lower" position, you are good to go. All others will be harder to interchange, or risk dirt. JimN

Thanks for all the replies fellows, what I did was run the return back to the filler as was suggested. I use the lift-all pump to straighten out the gangs and use the "lower" position on the pump while driving foward too pull the gangs back into the "cutting" position. Once again thanks for all the help.
