Cub engine, what's next?

I finally got the cub engine back from the machine shop. New valve guides and seats.
Put the cam in and realized I couldn't get the lifters in. Took the cam out, put lifters in. Now I can't get the valve springs on. Pulled the lifters back. Installed 4 of the valve springs. Stopped there. Not sure how to get the cam in. Try to compress the lifters and wiggle it past them?
What's the proceedure here?

Lifters go in first, then the cam is next with block turned upside down. Turn block right side up to put in springs, caps, valves and keepers. Replacing the keepers is the hard part as there isn't much room to work and they are tricky to seat on the valve stems. I let the machine shop do mine as it helps to conserve cuss words. Joe
