M engine out there?

Looking for an M engine to swap into a project tractor. Looked at rebuild kits and that isn't up my dad's alley. So i was wondering if anyone had a decent running motor out there?

This is just a friendly suggestion here but these tractors are in many cases 60+ years old and so "rebuild" probably should be in your mindset. It is truly surprising how many parts a Case-IH dealer still stocks, however.

Relative to an engine rebuild...it can convceivably done without pulling the tractor's motor...

You would be better off to rebuild your engine.
Then you would know what you have. Pull the engine and have the crankshaft measured for wear
to see if it needs to be ground undersize. Your local auto machine shop can determine that very quickly. They can supply the correct bearings too. Have new cam bearings installed. New sleeve
& piston kits are readily available. Have the head redone too. It will then last a long time with a lot of care. Hal
