It does not currently run, but I should have it running without too much difficulty.

The previous owner had that muffler made so that he could enter low cattle sheds. The first thing I will do is remove it and install the correct muffler :)

Nice! I would dish the rears out add some weights. Other than that, looks great. I even like the muffler. My 400 project looks a lot worse, no sheetmetal even!

I agree on dishing the wheels out, weights optional but nice. The tractor appears to be mechanically sound. Good find!

Yes, I will certainly dish the wheels out. It was actually good that the wheels were dished in, it then fit between the fenders of my bumper pull trailer! I have a bunch of wheel weights that I can put on if I so desire. I think I will make this my loader tractor. I have a Farmhand F11 loader with grapple that I bought a few years ago. I thought about mounting it on my M, but was hesitant to do so because of the lack of live hydraulics, and I did not want to go to the trouble and expense to install a live hydraulic pump on the ol' M. Now, with this 400, live hyd. power is no problem! Oh, and I discovered that it has Behlen power steering too!!

I found this 400 here in southeast Nebraska. The owner heard me advertising a tractor for sale on a local radio station and he called me up and asked if I was interested in a 400, I jumped at the chance!
