Hello, I just bought a 79 cub. It"s painted yellow no white. What is the real color of 79 cubs? Also what is the right decal? The grill insert, what color should it be? How rare are the 79 cubs? I will happy with any answer"s.

Originally could have been yellow/white or solid red. Look in the inconspicuous areas (under hood, behind dash) to find hints of the original colors. The 1979 SN range is 253136 - 253685, so approx 549 Cubs were made the last year.
Decal should look like this: http://www.external_link/new/de/de43.htm with the grille insert being black.

Legend has it that ALL the 1979 Cubs were painted red because they knew it was going to be the last year of production. It was a return to the tractor's roots.

However, rumors have it that some were still painted yellow and white.

The decal should be a wide black stripe that runs the length of the hood and gas tank, with a blue accent stripe. The word "International" is in the blue stripe in white, and "Cub" is in the black stripe as I recall.

Somebody doused your 79 in yellow.

Here is a picture of one of the last 20 cubs built.

Thanks for the info on my cub when you mean red. Does that mean rims to. Or does anyone have a picture of one. First Int cub I have owned.
