Saginaw P/S pump

I have several of the 55-60 Saginaw power steering pumps that were used in the dealer PS add ons to Farmalls. Used with the Char-Lyn kits.
I have sourced the seals, O rings and parts to rebuild them but no one has the rubber gaskets that sit between the resevoir and the pump body.
I have the old gaskets but they are quite hard and brittle.
What fluid could I soak them in to soften them up? Or.. Where could I source rubber to make new gaskets? The originals seem to be about twice the thickness of an inner tube.
Yeah, I'll bet Old says ATF :)

Anyone need a rebuilt Saginaw pump?

Gordo What do you get for a rebuilt pump? Are they tested as to pressure output? My Charlynn outfit on an M farmall, works well but at an idle. I supose the pump is getting weak. Would like to try a known good one. Thanks Bernie Steffen Email is open
 
As far as making the gaskets, McMaster Carr has sheets of Buna-N rubber in many thicknesses and durometers. Buna-N is also commonly known as nitrile and has excellent petroleum oil resistance. Not very expensive.

Depending on the difficulty of the gaskets (in other words shape), you could simply scissor-cut them, make up a steel rule-die or use a combination of gasket punches.
