International 1066 engine

I read alot of comments about guys that had a 1066 with a DT466. I know alot of guys swap engines, but just to be sure, I have a 76" 1066 stripe. I was under the impression that it has a DT414. Was that the only engine they came with or was there an option? Or does everyone swap them for show, power, or just to replace a bad engine?

All 1066 had DT414 engines from factory. If you are rebuilding one and the crankshaft is bad, most of the time it is cheaper to get a 466 crankhaft and engine kit than than it is 414 items. (The major difference in any of the 414, 436, 466 short blocks are the crankshaft and piston. Connecting rods are the same.) When you include the trucking industry, a lot more 466's were made which makes parts cheaper.
