Does anyone know if pistons and liners from the British B264 engine are interchangable with the US model? Does this model have any issues on reliability?
Thanks
Bill

I have a Super BM which has the same 264CI engine I believe as the Super WD6.
Finding out details about the British built Farmall's is very hard based on my experience.
I have used the US Manuals and specifications for the Super M to date in my rebuild. But the UK tractor is very different to the US tractor. Unfortunately I cannot detail all those differences with respect to the engine.
If you can find a good database on the UK built Farmalls, as good as the US data that is readily available, let us all know as it would be very helpful. First item on my wish list is a copy of the UK Shop manual for the Super BM.

HI Don, so you are the proud owner of a Super BM tractor. The big tractor show at Newark on the 7th and 8th of November this year is featuring IH tractors. I am trying to get one of each IH tractor offerd to the UK farmer from 1910 to 1970 . As yet nobody has offerd me a Super BM so what do you think Don. MJ

MJ, great idea, but my Super BM is located in NZ. Have a great display, I will look for the pictures.
Any access to the UK manuals for Farmall tractors?

Hi Don, better pass on that one. Has your Super BM been in NZ all its time. Very few sold in the UK. We have a very nice Super BW6 comes to the Newark tractor show every year. The last Supers made had disc brakes like the B450. MJ

Hi MJ
My Super BM has been in NZ for most of its life I believe. My father purchased it second hand from a dealer in the South Island in the 70s and it has been in our family since. Currently it is in pieces undergoing a rebuild and paint.
It is Serial Number 11424 (1954 model I believe) and it is fitted with drum brakes, and a Irish made radiator. So it is definietly British.
According to Mike Teanby's book The Roar of Dust and Diesel the B250 was the first British built tractor fitted with disc brakes. Send us an email and I will send you some pictures - [email protected].
I am presently restoring a Ransome TS86 used by the British ploughing team in 1967 at the World Champs in Methven. Great to hear from yopu.
