Just bought a IH 47 twine baler. Owner said he used it last year, there was straw still in it.
He had the older rope looking twine in it,so I bought some poly twine 9000/130 from rural king.
I threaded it through the baler. As I was pulling it through the needles I noticed the twine pulled pretty hard. I checked all of the eyelets for a ware groove and they were all fine.
I ran some straw through it and noticed that it was not cutting the twine. Made an adjustment and the next bale it cut.
Now the PROBLEM, it would not tie the bales so I was watching the knotters and noticed that when it did knot, everytime the plunger came forward to pack the bale the knots would slip off of the knotter,it would take about three cycles of the plunger for this to happen.
Is my problem some cheap twine. Should I get some from a dealer. Thanks for any advice. Todd
